However, amidst the excitement, anxiety swiftly takes hold. At Southmead Hospital, Amy and her husband Paul, a naval engineer, prepare for an induction. A quick check reveals that Paul is more squeamish than he anticipated. Dianne, anxious about childbirth due to previous complications, and her husband John have chosen an elective Caesarian this time. However, their nerves start to escalate as the day approaches.
