While playing poker, another sergeant pulls a fast one and wipes out Bilko's entire bankroll. Desperate for cash, Bilko searches for a way to replenish his funds. Just when it seems he might lose his chance, a fresh group of rookies arrives for basic training. The platoon believes this new influx of cash could allow Bilko to re-enter the game, but his conscience holds him back from pursuing that path.
