Episode Overview
Malone finds himself in the crosshairs of two rival gangs just as he's about to make a significant change in his life. Disguised as priests, two gangsters crash an Irish communion breakfast, aiming to take out bootlegger Pauly Gaughan, but end up killing several children in the chaos. Believing Capone is behind it, a furious Malone confronts Vito Stellini and nearly kills him before Ness intervenes. Stellini reports the incident to Capone, leading them to see Malone as a growing threat. At the wake for one of the young victims, Ness learns that Coffee Ryan, the boy's father, is plotting revenge. Though he puts Ryan under watch, he soon realizes Malone is the real danger. He finds Malone in a speakeasy, drunkenly threatening Capone's men. Later that night, Malone is viciously attacked by four unknown assailants, but is saved from certain death by an Italian widow.
