Batou takes on an undercover mission at a military facility to keep an eye on Zaitsev, a former Olympic silver medalist he once admired. Unfortunately, Zaitsev is now being investigated for espionage. Batou manages to form a quick friendship with him, a rare occurrence for the usually reserved operative.
