Episode Overview
Dylan is deeply frustrated by his free-spirited mother, Iris, moving in with him. In response, he starts drinking, skipping school, and spending his days at a pool hall. Brenda holds a grudge against Iris for abandoning Dylan during his childhood and for trying to control his life now. Meanwhile, Cindy connects with Iris and participates in various new-age activities with her. Brandon keeps an eye on Dylan, who loses a significant amount of money in a pool game and faces violence over his debt. Realizing her presence is causing more harm than good, Iris decides to return to Hawaii, setting up a trust fund for Dylan with money Jack had previously given her to stay away. Brandon takes Dylan to an AA meeting, while Donna impresses Steve with her stock-picking skills during an economics project, leading him to encourage her to invest with him.
