In the hospital, Charlie comes to the shocking realization that the accident victim, wrapped in bandages, is Loretta, confirmed by Dr. Osgood showing him her purse. Meanwhile, Tom advises Mary to stay out of it as Little Garth rushes over, informing the Hartmans that Garth is picking on Pat. Brian hands Cathy a $10,000 check and another to see her son. Mary proposes that she and Pat visit the Women's Collective of Greater Fernwood, a group supporting battered women. Mac shares details about Lulu with Charlie, but Charlie insists she can't compare to Loretta. At the Capri, Mae confronts the men from the plant over drinks, trying to share her perspective, but tensions rise.
