With only a small fragment of Deus remaining, Murmur declares herself his successor until his demise and the world’s end on July 28th. Yuno reminds Yuki of her diary's prediction that they will "become one" on that date. As time passes, Yuki begins to accept that his friends were likely right. Confused about Yuno's honesty, he decides to fulfill her diary’s prophecy early. On July 27th, they make love, thus "becoming one." Afterward, Yuki confronts Yuno about her lie regarding resurrection. She admits she only wanted to comfort him and asks him to kill her. Refusing her request, Yuki proposes they die together. When he mentions Aru's message about their universe being a second iteration where Yuno became a goddess and traveled back in time, she attacks him.
