Now at 34, he feels that being gay has deprived him of his deepest desires: a family, marriage, and acceptance from his loved ones. Struggling with alcoholism, he starts his days by drinking to suppress his tremors and has turned to abuse towards his partner, making it hard to hold down a job. His father insists that willpower alone can conquer his addiction, while his mother attributes his struggles to hereditary factors.
