On March 11, 2009, Daniel Lopez was stopped for erratic driving, which led to a chaotic car chase resulting in the death of a police officer. As a consequence, the 27-year-old was sentenced to death. In a rare move for someone on death row, Daniel is refusing to appeal his execution, scheduled in just five weeks. His court-appointed attorneys argue that he is utilizing the justice system as a means of suicide, while his family desperately urges him to fight for his life.
