Episode Overview

Jack and Hurley stumble upon a troubling truth about Kate just as the marshal's condition worsens, leaving him in considerable agony. Meanwhile, Kate, Charlie, Sawyer, Sayid, Boone, and Shannon grapple with the strange secrets they’ve started to unveil, fearing that sharing this information with the other survivors might incite chaos. They agree to keep quiet for now. Additionally, Michael feels uneasy about Locke growing close to Walt, who is more focused on locating his lost dog. In a flashback, Kate recalls her arrest by the marshal in Australia.
