Lady Mae organizes a private shopping event for King Edward VII. In gratitude, the King extends an invitation to the Selfridges for the premiere of Ellen Love's new play, much to Rose's chagrin. When the Selfridges and Lady Mae attend, they realize the performance is a biting satire targeting them, penned by a resentful Frank Edwards. Overcome with embarrassment, Rose decides to return to America with the children. In the midst of this turmoil, two employees at Selfridges are preparing to tie the knot.
