Episode Overview

While on a cattle drive in the Nevada desert, Joe is shot and left injured. Two ranchers discover him, feverish from the scorching sun and desperate for water, and bring him back to their home to heal. As they call for a doctor, Joe fights for his life, mumbling in confusion and experiencing bizarre dreams featuring a teepee and a wagon wheel. Meanwhile, Ben and Hoss work to interpret Joe's disjointed words in hopes of understanding the events that led to his condition.
