Lady Chadwick, a woman from Ben's past whom he once cared for, makes a comeback in his life with a scheme to manipulate him into marriage by sabotaging his business. In response to her underhanded tactics, Ben reflects that nearly losing the Ponderosa could actually deepen the appreciation he and his sons have for their home and livelihood.
