In 2016, Eligio Bishop, known as “NatureBoy,” gained popularity as a social media influencer, leveraging his online presence to attract followers to a movement he dubbed Carbon Nation. He urged his followers to leave their families behind and embrace his idea of a self-styled Black utopia. What started as a community focused on alternative living soon transformed into a much darker and troubling reality.
