Episode Overview
The Laszlo family, a troupe of circus performers, sets up camp on the village green in Aidensfield, stirring up discontent among the locals who want them gone. Amid the tension, Anna, the vicar's daughter, finds herself drawn to the charming Milos Laszlo, much to the chagrin of her affluent fiancé, Jamie Hunter. When Nick learns of theft allegations against the Laszlos, he visits their caravan and discovers a sick man who has returned home to end his days due to cancer. Following a break-in at the church, Milos becomes the prime suspect when his scarf is found at the scene. However, Greengrass, an acquaintance of the Laszlos, reveals he saw Jamie pick up the scarf, leading Nick to suspect Hunter's involvement. Ultimately, the Laszlos decide to leave, with Anna realizing their presence is no longer welcome.
