During the engagement party, Fred starts to feel overwhelmed and feigns an illness to escape the situation. Evelyn quickly sees through his ruse and becomes furious. The real issue is Fred's reluctance to marry at this moment. When he admits this to her, her anger intensifies. However, as he opens up about feeling rushed, her frustration subsides. Understanding his feelings, Evelyn ultimately decides to give Fred the time he needs before they take the next step in their relationship.
