When Nicco looks into the death of a female tree planter from thirty years ago, his prime suspect is Ian Northby, a well-known humanitarian. Soon, Nicco regrets digging into the case and realizes he doesn’t belong in the Squad—he belongs back on the force. After months of an affair, Len grows uneasy when Sonia takes on an undercover prostitution bust. She promises to quit if he leaves Wanda for her. He finally agrees, just as Sonia is injected with a massive dose of heroin by the American pimp she’s investigating. Meanwhile, at the urging of convicted murderer Abdul Rhaman’s daughter, Ali agrees to re-examine his case—the murder of Khallid Fulani. But as she digs in, she discovers Fulani never actually existed, and C.S.I.S. has seized all the files.
