Rurouni Kenshin (2023)
Overview
A decade after the tumultuous Bakumatsu period, when citizens rose against the Tokugawa shogunate for freedom, Japan enters the Meiji era. However, true peace remains elusive. Despite a ban on swords, violence continues to plague the streets, leaving war veterans’ orphans in dire circumstances. While the government prioritizes its wealth, the hope for a prosperous and just society hangs by a thread. Amidst this unrest, former assassin Kenshin Himura seeks redemption, determined to protect the innocent and confront the shadows of his past as he navigates a nation still haunted by conflict.
