Overview

Cameraman River Haag journeys to war-ravaged Syria to capture the harrowing realities of the most severe humanitarian disaster since World War II. While working alongside a dedicated group of volunteer medics, River feels a moral obligation to apply his military medical skills and enlist with the YPG to combat ISIS. In this role, he tends to the wounded, offering care to civilian victims of the conflict, as well as Kurdish and Arab fighters, and even members of ISIS, blurring the lines of allegiance in a desperate bid to save lives.
